Already own Star Citizen? Check before paying for a bonus

Maintained by Domux. Editorial approach and referral disclosure

A new purchase cannot reopen the referral window on an older RSI account. Check account eligibility first so you do not buy a package expecting a currency reward that cannot be attached.

Three checks before you spend

  1. Find when your RSI account was created. Time spent playing Free Fly does not decide eligibility.
  2. Check whether a referral code is already attached. RSI does not allow changing a linked code or stacking signup rewards.
  3. If the account is less than 24 hours old and has no code, add STAR-JTV7-FXLR in the entry box at the bottom of the account summary panel. You can do this after playing; the deadline concerns the code, not a purchase.

What changes if you already paid?

An eligible account still within the grace period can attach a code. A purchased account outside that window cannot directly add one. Buying a second ship, upgrading your hull or using a subscriber coupon does not reset the clock. RSI subscriber coupon terms

RSI describes a support-assisted closure and recreation option for older accounts without completed pledges or accepted gifts. It creates a different account, rather than retroactively rewarding the original one. Ask RSI about eligibility before closing anything, especially if you have access or purchases to preserve.

What the credits mean for your budget

The standard reward is account UEC. Alpha uses temporary aUEC, and a late code entry may delay its appearance. Patch settings and resets affect the starting balance. Package-included UEC is treated differently. There is no repeated top-up each time you log in and alpha earnings are not guaranteed launch currency. RSI currency definitions
